Linda Berbig was promoted to acting assistant director of nursing in geriatrics.
Catherine Healy received certification as a med-surg nurse.
Gail Campbell-Johnson was promoted to nurse manager of the Caledonian Division of the ED.
Clare Tierney, James Tierney, and Nenita V. Sausa completed the American Heart Walk.
Catherine Purpura joined the staff as the assistant director of nursing.

Mary Ellen Nolan earned certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner.

Michelle Goldafarb, associate director of quality management, was the winner of the 2002 Goldman Student Merit Award from PHANYC (Public Health Association of NYC) for a paper she wrote on the emotional effects on emergency responders to September 11th.
